In 1973, Dave Liniger and Gail Main founded RE/MAX using a maximum commission concept. This allowed the agents to keep nearly all of the commission, paying the broker out of office expenses rather than the commission. Operating on a franchise system, the company has grown to more than 100,000 agents and it one of the top real estate companies in the world.
PHILANTHROPY
In 1992, RE/MAX began sponsoring the Children’s Miracle Network, raising over $147 million since then. In 2002, RE/MAX began sponsoring the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure events in the United States. In addition, RE/MAX franchises use the hot air balloons for educational programs and to help raise money for non-profit organizations.
