New Plane In Town

A Mike Rounds Report: New Plane in Town

ICYMI: Ellsworth Air Force Base has officially been selected as the first home of the B-21 Raider bomber! This is a tremendous victory for our state. As the main operating base for the next-generation stealth bomber, Ellsworth will play a critical role in defending our nation over the next 50 years.

The selection of Ellsworth is a testament to the hard work of the communities of Box Elder and Rapid City who’ve showcased our state well. South Dakota is known for providing a welcoming environment for young men and women who are serving their country, and many who retire from Ellsworth end up living in the Black Hills.

The arrival of this next-generation stealth bomber will have a huge economic impact on the Rapid City area. As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I’ve actively worked to secure full funding for the B-21 program and I’ll continue working with Box Elder and Rapid City to make certain that South Dakota is prepared to welcome the Airmen and women who will now be coming to our state.

With the introduction of the B-21 plan and the economic implications there is going to be an increased need for housing in Rapid City and surrounding areas. If you are looking for homes in the area make sure to call the Stuart Martin Real Estate Team at (605) 390-4227 .
